Australian culture in The Netherlands: We are meeting the director of the AAMU - Museum of contemporary Aboriginal art in Utrecht. He gives us a tour of the museum and gives us insight in some beautiful aboriginal art work and background stories. In our second item this week we speak with Albert, a Dutch backpacker who organised the “Nieuwjaarsduik” (New Years’ Dive) in Sydney.

First impressions:
We meet Kasper and Tobias both 19 years and in their cap year backpacking around asia and Australia. Kasper and Tobias stayed at our house for the first 5 days in Melbourne and the 6 day day go and try to find a youthhostel and show their friend Coen , also coincidentally the son of the dutch consulate in Sydney, the city a bit. I ask Tobias a lot of questions about his firt impressions.

We meet Rachel and her baby in Prahran. At first we have a quiet conversation while the baby is a sleep and talk about how it is to become a mum in Melbourne and what that means. when the baby is awake we go and see Prahran and again I ask her lots of tips for new Dutch mums in Melbourne.

Rachel meets another young mum in Melbourne this time it is Cate with baby Chloe. At first Chloe is still a sleep and we talk how she and her husband met, as we heard it was an amazing meeting as she still lived in the Netherlands and he in Melbourne. Then Chloe wakes up and we walk now with her baby through Brighton.
She also good give us lots of tips for new mums in Melbourne.

Rachel meets another young mum in Melbourne. This time we travel “over the bridge” to Altona. her baby is allready awake. We hear also about her story how they came amazingly met eachother, while she exally didnt want to fall in love as she wanted to go back to the Netherlands. Later on we go outside and see what live is in Altona, why did they choose to live there?
